PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $194,400.00-$237,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $151,400.00 - $280,900.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As the Director of Technology - Infrastructure Management, you'll lead BECU's infrastructure strategy, ensuring our technology systems run smoothly and securely. You'll oversee the design and implementation of hybrid and Azure Cloud solutions that support key business functions like credit cards, mortgages, and deposits, making sure we deliver reliable and innovative services to our members.

You'll lead a high-performing team, focusing on improving infrastructure and adopting modern technologies like Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Your work will help BECU stay agile, reduce costs, and improve system reliability.

By managing vendor relationships and optimizing our infrastructure, you'll ensure BECU's technology supports our long-term growth and delivers great experiences for our members.

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX. If you're located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Infrastructure Management:Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure systems to ensure secure and efficient operations. This includes managing colocation strategy, physical infrastructure, capacity planning, data center technologies, enterprise storage solutions, backup/recovery systems, server operating systems, and hypervisor platforms.
  • Leadership and Strategy:Provide vision and direction for infrastructure services, aligning with organizational goals and objectives. Develop and execute infrastructure roadmaps that support business growth and innovation.
  • Team Management:Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance work environment.
  • Problem Resolution:Guide the team in resolving complex technical issues and challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Vendor Management:Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure optimal value and service delivery.
  • Security and Compliance:Ensure the security of data, equipment, and facilities, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Implement and enforce security best practices and policies.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation:Develop and manage the infrastructure services budget, optimizing resource allocation and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:Develop, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and ensure business resiliency.
  • Collaborate Across Functions:Work closely with product, operations, and compliance teams to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Mentor and Grow Engineering Talent:Serve as a technical mentor and coach to engineers at all levels.
  • Support Agile Delivery:Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and planning sessions
  • Drive Technical Change:Introduce and implement practical, modern engineering practices that enable continuous improvement in both systems and teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
  • Typically requires 7 years of experience as a people leader experience. Experience leading technology teams with focus in Infrastructure Management or related roles with a strong understanding of digital infrastructure services, colocation data center/storage management, and deploying Infrastructure as code services
  • Typically requires 8 years of information technology experience with demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing complex infrastructure hybrid and Azure Cloud solutions application design.
  • Domain experience with Infrastructure/Operations and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and/or financial products experience (i.e. Credit Card, Mortgage, Auto Loan, Deposits, etc.)
  • Experience building technology platforms and teams

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex infrastructure hybrid and Azure Cloud solutions.
  • Ability to work in Agile development environments and lead teams through iterative delivery cycles.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, VCP, VCAP, CISSP, Cisco Certified Specialist - Data Center Unified Computing Implementation.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing vendor performance.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams through organizational or technical change.
  • Ability to guide technical architecture decisions, perform risk-based change reviews, and troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Technology fundamentals, design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
  • Delivery experience working under an Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Working experience of software engineering best practices including coding standards, change management, manage incidents, CI/CD, build processes, testing, and operations
