We are seeking a Program Analyst to support the Defense Innovation Unit's Commercial Operations Team reporting to the Secretary of Defense. DIU's Commercial Operations is a component dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration among DoD Mission Partners, Academia, Industry, new ventures & entrepreneurs, private capital investors, and other national security stakeholders to solve some of the most complex challenges facing the nation.

The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a diversity of situations, with excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities and equities in a high-tempo environment serving DIU's mission.

The successful candidate will build ongoing rapport and interact seamlessly with a professional demeanor across a broad range of individuals including members of the Senior Management Team, government contractors, Federal civilian and military employees, and cross-government stakeholders. The role is expected to handle exquisitely highly sensitive, confidential, and institutional information while exercising professionalism and discretion.

SUMMARY:

This hybrid role combines the data-driven mindset of a Data Analyst, and the organizational acumen of a Program Support Analyst. The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative support to senior leadership while also contributing analytical insights that inform decision-making and drive operational improvements. This role is ideal for a resourceful, tech-savvy professional who is comfortable wearing multiple hats.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Analysis:

* Collect, clean, and validate data from various sources to ensure accuracy and reliability
* Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
* Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Salesforce, Pitchbook and CB Insights
* Work closely with stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into data requirements and data visualizations
* Present analysis findings and recommendations in clear, compelling ways to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Support ad hoc data requests and analysis to support the government in operational and strategic decisions

Event Support:

* Support senior level, multistakeholder strategic meetings including coordinate logistics for internal and external engagements.
* Prepare DIU stakeholders in advance of strategic commercial discussion with pre-briefings, agendas, and research materials.
* Support CommOps events planning and execution.
* Act as a liaison, in support of DIU leadership, between executives and internal/external stakeholders for planning purposes.
* Assist in documenting and tracking action items and follow-ups.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience, Education, Skills and Abilities:

* 3-5 years of experience in a similar hybrid role or a combination of executive support, business analysis, or data analysis roles.
* Experience with tools such as Saleforce, Pitchbook, and CB Insights.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret datasets and present findings clearly.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Economics, or related field preferred.

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
