We have an excellent opportunity for a Sales Applications Engineer to join our team of professionals in our Lawrenceville, GA location. As a Sales Application Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and Embedded Computing Architects with all aspects of technical sales (pre and post).

You will interface directly with customers and Elma engineering to provide technical support and to evaluate RFQ's and support other customer-related issues. The ideal candidate will play a crucial part in delivering tailored technical solutions that support our customers' needs and drive business success. You'll be the bridge between our sales and engineering teams-providing technical support, reviewing RFQs, and ensuring our offerings meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Solution Recommendations: Propose tailored solutions that align with current Elma products and meet customer requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Act as the liaison between Sales and Engineering, offering application support during the design phase.
  • Proposal Preparation: Develop cost proposals, quotations, and system configuration descriptions for the RSM.
  • Customer Engagement: Provide technical support and maintain detailed records of customer requirements while promptly addressing any open technical issues.
  • Field Support: Visit customer sites as needed and participate in additional projects as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with high-tech manufacturing, Single Board Computers, and Ethernet switches is an asset.
  • Experience in electronics, electronic packaging, and CAD software is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of storage, software integration, and contract review is preferred.
  • Knowledge of bus-oriented computer systems and real-time computer environments is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and drawings accurately.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting products and applications to effectively address and support customer needs.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-sufficient when working independently.
  • Strong time management skills to efficiently handle a high volume of sales activities and customer calls on a regular basis.


Education:

  • An AS/BS in a technical field (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience is required.
  • A strong technical background is preferred, and familiarity with ELMA products is a plus.
