Overview
The External Relations Coordinator plays a critical role in advancing the mission of the Huntsman Scholar Program by cultivating and managing relationships with professional mentors and Scholar alumni. This position leads the development, coordination, and growth of an external mentoring program, connecting over 20 professional mentors with more than 400 students. Working closely with program leadership and the Corporate Relations External team, the Coordinator enhances the Scholar experience and strengthens external networks to support the program's long-term success and sustainability.

This position is eligible for hybrid work within the state of Utah.

Responsibilities
Professional Mentorship Program Development and Management
  • Design, implement, and oversee a professional mentorship program, fostering connections between Huntsman Scholars and external professional mentors.
  • Recruit, onboard, and engage professional mentors, providing orientation, resources, and ongoing support to ensure high-quality mentoring relationships.
  • Develop tools, training sessions, and events to facilitate effective and rewarding mentorship experiences, including mentor-mentee matching processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, collecting feedback and analyzing data to inform continuous improvement and demonstrate program impact.

Relationship Management and External Engagement
  • Maintain regular communication with professional mentors and Scholar alumni to foster long-term engagement and involvement with the Huntsman Scholar Program and Huntsman School of Business.
  • Coordinate recognition initiatives and appreciation efforts for mentors and alumni who contribute to the program.
  • Collaborate with the External Relations team to align mentorship efforts with broader alumni and external engagement strategies.

Administrative Support
  • Maintain accurate records of mentor and mentee participation, interactions, and outcomes.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and communications that highlight mentorship program achievements and areas for growth.
  • Support planning and execution of events related to mentorship and external relations, including networking events and professional panels.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, education, communication, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and reporting on program data and outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education, alumni relations, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Experience in CRM management tools like SalesForce.
  • 2+ years of experience in relationship management, alumni relations, mentorship coordination, or program management.
  • Background in mentorship program development or volunteer management.
  • Familiarity with the Huntsman School of Business or Utah State University community and programs.
