Responsibilities

Sysmex America, Inc. in Mundelein, IL seeks a Specialist, Applications Technical- Industrial Flow.

    Participate in regular Industrial Flow Staff Meetings as the Applications Department Owner. Implement Sysmex instruments, middleware, and reagents into customer sites in US, Canada and Latin America.
  • Work with customers to take ownership of the instrument.
  • Assist customers with meeting their technical requirements.
  • Provide appropriate training for the customer on newly installed instruments.
  • Manage the integration process to meet customer expectations and timeline.
  • Act as secondary applications support escalation for TAC and Distributor incidents.
  • Perform troubleshooting on issues related to reagent, middleware or instrument performance designed to improve customer self-sufficiency: Investigate problems; diagnose probable causes; systematically eliminate alternatives; provide solutions.
  • Recognize and communicate product issues, complaints, and potential improvements.
  • Develop and implement training programs (workshops and onsite training) for customers, distributors, and Technical Services to maintain desired levels of customer satisfaction and reference ability.
  • Manage time, territory, and accounts effectively; use computers to document activity; take initiative to make changes to improve how work is done, focus on process improvement; promote customer satisfaction; support sales objectives and organizational directives; provide data to the organization on customer use/preferences leading to customer driven design/customer usability.
  • Responsible for identifying and communicating critical gaps, product issues, complaints, and recommending potential improvements to the installation and implementation process.
  • Provide technical information to direct management/peers, distributors, and other functional groups.
  • Proactively address and support sales objectives and organizational directives.
  • Provide both pre-sale and post-sale support. Pre-sale support includes delivering technical presentations, and instrument Demos, working at trade shows, and performing evaluations as necessary. Post-sale support includes standard of work, capturing revenue through the ICN process, and customer retention activities to drive customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Responsible for managing company assets (including the daily and weekly maintenance of demo equipment that resides in the Mundelein Industrial Flow laboratory) and expenses within company guidelines.


Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related and 5 years of experience in job offered or as technician/scientist, in Flow Cytometry Laboratory, Microbiology Laboratory or similar setting.
  • Must have experience with:
    • 1. Flow Cytometry;
    • 2. Implementing instruments and reagents at customer laboratories including managing the integration process to meet customer expectations and timeline;
    • 3. Developing and providing technical training programs for customers, distributors and technical services;
    • 4. Performing troubleshooting on issues related to reagent, middleware and instrument performance to improve customer self-sufficiency;
    • 5. Diagnosing instrument performance, probable cause, assessing alternatives and providing solutions.
  • Travel required twice monthly in the United States.

BENEFITS: The salary range for this role is $102,000.00 to $127,064.30. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The total compensation package for this position also includes a choice of health care plan (medical, vision, and dental insurance), an annual incentive bonus, paid time off, car allowance, parental leave, bereavement leave and a 401(K) for all eligible employees.
