- Conducting necessary audits and processing/distributing monthly manager leave reports and ad hoc leave reports, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local leave requirements, updating company communications, and posting required notices where applicable.
- Assisting with the day-to-day administration and communication of Venable's health and welfare programs, including health, dental, vision, flexible spending, health savings accounts, disability benefits, worker's compensation, life insurance, and accident plans.
- Conducting monthly benefits orientations and assisting in preparing and maintaining benefits-related operational guides and handbooks.
- Partnering with COBRA vendor to ensure accurate data regarding subsidies, invoicing, and direct billing.
- Overseeing benefits enrollment for new hires and qualified life events, conducts quality control reviews, and performs system audits and reporting to ensure data accuracy. Supporting bi-weekly benefits processing and quality control efforts to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and payroll integration.
- Providing thorough, timely, and compliant responses to benefits inquiries, ensuring clear documentation of all communications.
- Building and maintaining effective internal and external relationships through exceptional customer service, resolving routine and complex benefits questions within 24 hours.
- Assisting with the Open Enrollment process to ensure accurate employee eligibility and benefit enrollments with vendors HRIS program changes, system testing, and updating communication guides.

- Bachelor's degree in a related field or experience equivalent
- 3+ years of related experience, including working knowledge and hands on experience with benefits & FMLA/Disability administration
- Thorough understanding of current Federal and State regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA (Federal, DC, CA, NY), ADA, SECTION 125 and DOL requirements
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point
- Experience working in various benefits portals and understanding of benefits/payroll/HRIS data feeds
Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC: $80,000 - $95,000per year The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position.
