That's why we're looking for a Professional Development & Training Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to professional development and training efforts.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...



  • Assisting the Director of Training and Development and Sr. Manager of Professional Development with organizing meetings and workshops; supporting internal attorney trainings
  • Working with LMS Administrator to enter programs and events into firm's Learning Management System
  • Providing administrative support related to continuing legal education (CLE); maintaining CLE records in accordance with various state rules; responding to CLE related inquiries from attorneys and departmental staff
  • Processing invoice requests and reimbursement requests for training programs, CLE fees, and other expenses as needed;
  • Assisting with onboarding and special projects

  • A minimum of one year of related experience required; requires working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to compose, edit and proofread routine business correspondence
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs (with assistance) for training events


Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC:

$55,000 - $60,000 per year

The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
