SUMMARY

The Trauma Outreach & Injury Prevention Coordinator assists the Trauma Service in providing excellent trauma care by collaborating with the trauma team through outreach, education and injury prevention programs. Collaborates with referral hospitals, emergency medical services and community entities to create and provide educational outreach programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

*Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.



*Coordinates and maintains the design and development of Trauma Outreach Education and Injury Prevention programs at Bryan Medical Center.



*Collaborates with referral hospitals, surrounding emergency medical services, air medical services and the community to provide educational outreach programs that support the mission and core values of Bryan Medical Center.



*Provides monitoring and continuity of care between the trauma service and referral facilities.



*Coordinates community and regional injury prevention programs for Trauma services including collaboration with the Advancement department at Bryan Health as well as other community partners.



*Coordinates trauma programs including TNCC, ATLS, ATCN and other standardized education programs in conjunction with educational services.



*Coordinates Trauma Grand Rounds and the Bryan Trauma Symposium planning in conjunction with educational services.



*Plans and executes the Trauma Update newsletter.



*Develops and coordinates trauma education for clinical, ancillary and support services; conducts inservices on trauma center requirements, team roles, standards, protocols and procedures.




QUALIFICATIONS:

Current license in health care such as nursing, paramedics, respiratory care, etc. Minimum of three years in clinical practice with a focus on critical care or emergency medicine. Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR).
