Description
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) performs an important role for Aurorium, sitting at the center of the broader finance team to help the CFO and Aurorium's leadership gain financial visibility and insights on the business, helping to drive and deliver business performance through business unit and operational performance, cost reduction initiatives, footprint optimization, asset management, and support for key cash flow initiatives. The Director of FP&A is responsible for designing and executing our reporting systems to facilitate the development of business insights, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, variance commentary, and other financial reports and reviews. The Director of FP&A will partner across finance and the leadership team.

Responsibilities

Role Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provides accurate and timely financial analysis and insight to business leadership to ensure fully informed decisions
  • Manage key financial processes, including Monthly forecasting, annual budget planning, performance reporting, and others.
  • Prepares as-needed, finance-related business presentations for key stakeholders
  • Develop metrics to track team-specific and company-wide goals, identify opportunities, provide recommendations, and collaborate across all levels.
  • Develop dashboards and other reports to provide financial insight to the business in a clear and concise manner
  • Provides guidance and analysis of make/buy decisions, acquisitions, and commercial agreements
  • Participates within the goal setting process, policies, and resource allocations of the business
  • Participates within cross-functional teams to improve profitability and appropriate allocation of resources of the global businesses
  • Identify potential savings projects based on key indicators or other outside sources
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve tools and processes
  • Apply an analytical approach to influence strategic decision-making, with a focus on capital allocation decisions and long-term financial planning
  • Manage and continue to grow a team of financial analysts
  • Direct coordination and activities of the business unit financial staff
  • Mentor and coach other Aurorium team members in the use and capabilities of our financial systems
  • Be an expert on Aurorium's business and financial drivers
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Desired Skills

Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Master Degree in Business Administration or Finance preferred

Experience:
  • 10-15 years of professional experience, ranging from Commercial, Research, Manufacturing to Accounting and Finance within a global organization
  • Manufacturing or chemical industry experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis, report detail and proven proficiency within financial software and financial disciplines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to flex own style as needed to influence and drive results
  • Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities which allow assessments of situations and opportunities
  • Proficient in SAP, Planful, Power BI and Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
