Each year, our team empowers children and families in Kansas, Missouri, and beyond through three key service areas:
- Youth & Family Support - We help youth gain independence through social and living support programs while empowering families with the skills and resources they need to become resilient and successful.
- Foster Care & Adoption - We reunify and unite families while recruiting and providing support to foster parents and youth in foster care.
- Education & Community Trainings - We help students achieve academic success while giving educators the tools to create safe learning environments to improve their students' behaviors and offer innovative learning opportunities to build and improve knowledge in the community.
We are seeking a Therapist I School-Based, to join our team. A Therapist I School-Based is an individual who is provisionally or fully licensed (LMSW, PLPC, LCSW, LPC) therapist with the State of Missouri. This individual is responsible for providing quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy aimed at meeting the integrated behavioral, social, psychological, emotional, and safety needs of children and families that interfere with the student's academic success. Services provided are individual and family therapies that may be held during and outside of school hours. The therapist's caseload of students in the determined school district in St. Louis County may also include children in foster and/or adoptive care. This position works as part of a collaborative treatment team for the client and is responsible for conducting comprehensive clinical assessments using various tools, reviewing assessment outcomes with clients, developing treatment plans by establishing treatment goals with the client, and determining treatment methodologies. School-Based Therapist, you will also be responsible for collaborating with school staff to address and support students' individual needs. This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position. Students are seen during the summer and when school is out of session. A hybrid of in-person and Telehealth sessions is used to meet referral needs. Mileage Reimbursement/Stipend is included in this position. As a member of the Community Counseling - Eastern MO team, you will work with other team members and report to the Clinical Manager. WHAT YOU WILL DO: ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnoses client's problems by collecting and evaluating information about the client's situation.
- Develops treatment plans by establishing treatment goals with the client/family, determining treatment methodologies.
- Advises client by suggesting and exploring resolutions, discussing progress toward goals.
- Obtains services by initiating referrals.
- Monitors progress toward treatment goals by evaluating and adjusting services provided.
- Assures quality service for clients by enforcing rules, regulations, and legal requirements with clients, documenting events of the therapeutic process in a confidential manner.
- Maintains agency credibility by establishing working relationships with sponsors, advisory, and related service agencies.
- Promotes the agency by ensuring an understanding of program services available for clients; publicizing activities and accomplishments, adhering to a professional code of ethics.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING: Our ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of case management years of relevant experience and a master's degree in social work, Counseling, or Psychology. REQUIREMENTS
- At least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical, and drug screening
- A valid driver's license, proof of current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation
- Ability to engage clients and families.
- Strong desire to work with caregivers/parents of children.
- High level of verbal/writing skills.
- Stress management, self-care, conflict resolution, problem-solving, self-confidence, and self-management skills.
- Ability to maintain work performance, meet clinical documentation deadlinesand work with a structured workflow in a fast-paced setting
- High level of communication skills with various levels of agency staff and teams.
