Responsibilities
Summary:
This role provides direct support to the Student Life Coordinator by assisting with campus activities, event setup and takedown, layout planning, and promotion. Responsibilities also include managing Student Life's social media accounts, creating flyers, researching current programs and trends at peer institutions, and helping to enhance student engagement. Additionally, this position supports the events, initiatives, and goals of the Student Activities Board and the Commuter and Transfer Assistant program.

Job Responsibilities:

Event Support & Logistics

  • Assist with planning, setting up, and taking down Student Life events and programs - including preparing supplies, helping with check-in, managing the space, and ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish. (Critical Thinking, Teamwork, and Leadership)


Social Media & Marketing
  • Help manage the Student Life social media accounts by creating and posting engaging content, promoting upcoming events, capturing photos, and increasing online visibility of campus activities. (Technology)
Campus Spirit & Engagement
  • Promote school pride and build community by helping brainstorm and execute fun initiatives like spirit days, giveaways, and themed programs that bring students together. (Communication)
Research & Outreach
  • Explore what peer institutions are doing by researching creative programming ideas, tracking trends in student engagement, and sharing new concepts that could enhance campus life. (Critical Thinking)
Program Collaboration
  • Support the efforts of student leadership groups like the Student Activities Board (SAB) and Commuter and Transfer Assistants by helping with event planning, outreach, logistics, and collaborative initiatives. (Teamwork)
Office & Administrative Tasks
  • Assist the Student Life Coordinator with day-to-day responsibilities such as organizing supplies, maintaining inventory, preparing materials, managing calendars, and supporting special projects as needed. (Teamwork)
Supervision
  • Provide on site supervision with the Student Life Coordinator or other Student Life staff at events, programs, and activities. (Leadership)
Assist with any other duties as outlined by the Student Life Coordinator.
Qualifications
Qualifications

  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student in good academic and behavioral standing
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.6
  • Passion for student life, school spirit, and creating an inclusive campus community
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and in a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to assist with event setup, take down, and occasional evening or weekend programming
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Canva, etc.) preferred
  • Prior experience with event planning or student organizations is a plus but not required


Office setting, however student will have to travel from building to building for event, programs, and activities.
Pay Rate Hourly $15 Per Hour
Benefits Not benefit-eligible
Hours / Week 10 Hours Per Week (During Semester), 5 Hours Per Week (During Summer)
