Overview

The Senior Engineer is responsible for designing and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of this role include ensuring that solutions are well architected, with maintainability and ease of testing built in from the outset, and that they can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow. You will have gained significant experience through multiple implementations and have begun to develop both depth and breadth in a number of engineering competencies. You should have extensive knowledge of design and architectural patterns. You will provide engineering thought leadership within their teams and will play a role in mentoring and coaching of less experienced engineers.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate within a tech-driven agile team to deliver high-quality software for Investment and Corporate Banking users

  • Build micro frontends using React/TypeScript and backend services in Java/Kotlin, with a focus on scalable architecture and system resilience

  • Develop and maintain integrations with Microsoft Graph application programming interface (API) (including Azure AD and Outlook), ensuring robust authentication and service interaction

  • Champion engineering and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindsets, owning end-to-end delivery to production, participating in on-call rotations, and driving system stability through incident management practices

  • Mentor engineers while promoting a culture grounded in strong technical and behavioral values

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment focused on continuous improvement and innovation

Skills You'll Need

  • Strong experience building Java-based microservices (Spring), reactive APIs, and modular frontend apps using React, TypeScript, Redux, and related technologies

  • Deep understanding of Micro Frontend architecture, including module federation, Webpack, and scalable component design

  • Proficient with Microsoft Graph API, including authentication/authorization, and integrating with Microsoft 365 services

  • Hands-on experience with testing (Jest, Cypress), continuous integration/continuous deployment (or development) (CI/CD) pipelines, and version control workflows

  • Skilled in working with Structured Query Language (SQL)/NoSQL databases, system monitoring, root cause analysis, and business stakeholder collaboration

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Knowledge of SRE/DevOps practices and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and New Relic

  • Exposure to or experience with graph databases and complex data relationships

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical ideas to stakeholders

  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities with a strategic mindset toward technology and product development

  • Self-motivated, proactive team player who thrives under pressure and contributes to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $142,250.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
