THE POSITION

The Department of Housing Services and Housing Authority of Washington County is recruiting for a Housing Development Coordinator!
The Housing Development Coordinator will manage affordable housing real estate development and investment activities. This position will manage or assist all phases of the affordable housing development process including acquisition, predevelopment, construction, and transition to operations. The Housing Development Coordinator will maintain and foster positive working relationships with internal and external partners including lenders, investors, general contractors, architects, engineers, planners, vendors, consultants. elected officials, and the community at large. This position will also develop and implement affordable housing lending, investing, and operational programs.

The Ideal Candidate in this role will typically bring a background in affordable housing real estate development gained within a local government, housing authority, or development company/nonprofit. A strong understanding of local, state, and federal housing policies and funding mechanisms is crucial for success. The ability to navigate local governmental processes and effectively solve complex challenges within a highly regulated environment is essential, while experience in pro forma development and project management skills will distinguish candidates. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Education and Experience:
- An Associate's Degree in a Health, Social Service, Business, or related field; AND three (3) years of work experience in program administration, development, evaluation, and/or contract administration. OR
- Five (5) years of experience in program administration, development, evaluation, and/or contract administration.
Additional Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.
- Must pass a criminal background check post-offer.

Selection Process: 1 .Minimum Qualifications (MQ) Review: Human Resources will screen applications for MQs beginning the week after the posting closes. Additional preferred qualifications screening may be applied depending on the number of applications received. The timeframe to review will be the week of May 18, 2025. 2.Subject Matter Expert (SME) Review: Your responses may be evaluated and scored by a panel of subject matter experts. Your total score for this examination will affect your placement on the eligible list (a list of candidates eligible for interviews). This process will begin the week of May 25, 2025 and may take up to 2 weeks. 3. Panel Interviews: Our goal is to schedule oral panel interviews with candidates that successfully passed the SME evaluation step as soon as possible.
