Who is Saint Louis University? Founded in 1818, Saint Louis University is one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious Catholic universities. The Department of History at Saint Louis University seeks a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor with a focus on Jesuit History in St. Louis in the 19thand 20thcenturies. The ideal candidate would be able to teach survey courses in U.S. history, the history of St. Louis, American labor history, and 20thcentury American Catholic history. He or she will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and display a compelling research agenda. The position comes with a 2-2 teaching load. The Ph.D. must be in hand by the time of appointment on August 1, 2025.
