Description
As Supply Chain Manager, you are the driving force behind our materials sourcing strategy, with particular emphasis on just-in-time delivery to support our production schedules and ensure strong on-time delivery to customers. You build and implement systems that optimize our supply chain, working closely with engineering, production planning, and production teams to create seamless cross-functional processes. During our transformation from traditional fabricator to engineered solutions provider, you develop the supply chain infrastructure that enables us to serve enterprise customers in data centers, industrial power, and defense sectors with reliability and precision. Your expertise in inventory management and Toyota Manufacturing Systems is instrumental in creating the lean, efficient supply chain that underpins our growth and repositioning.
The Scope
* Lead materials sourcing from steel mills and industrial suppliers, developing strategic supplier relationships that align with our quality and delivery requirements
* Design and implement just-in-time delivery systems that minimize inventory and ensure continuity
* Apply Toyota Manufacturing Systems principles to create lean, efficient supply chain processes
* Develop and track KPIs for supply chain performance, providing actionable insights to leadership
* Build robust cross-functional processes with engineering, production planning, and production teams
* Leverage Visual10 ERP system to optimize inventory management, procurement, and planning
* Manage materials inventory to balance cost efficiency with production requirements
* Forecast material needs based on sales projections and production schedules
* Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery terms
* Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning and supplier diversification
* Drive continuous improvement in all supply chain processes
* Develop and implement standard operating procedures for supply chain activities
* 25% travel to serve all three production sites (PA, MD, and OK)
The Key Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field
* 7+ years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in industrial settings
* Demonstrated accomplishments in leading Toyota Manufacturing Systems and lean methodologies
* Six Sigma certification preferred
* Strong experience leveraging ERP systems, with Visual10 experience strongly preferred
* Specific track record implementing just-in-time delivery systems
* Experience improving relationships with steel mills and industrial material suppliers
* Excellent analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights
* Systems-thinking approach to problem-solving and process improvement
* Collaborative mindset with strong cross-functional leadership abilities and accountability
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience supporting organizational change and transformation initiatives
Target Salary range $ 90,000 - 115,000
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field
* 7+ years of experience in supply chain management
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
* Demonstrated accomplishments in leading Toyota Manufacturing Systems and lean methodologies
