Trellis Health is seeking a Medical Director to design, implement and expand a new approach to primary care practice that exceeds healthcare's quadruple aim. Trellis Health is a for-profit subsidiary born out of MaineHealth to solve the challenges people are experiencing with primary care. Through a network of advanced primary care practices, Trellis is improving access to a host of preventive services while also reducing total cost of care of employers and individuals. The Medical Director will be a passionate healthcare clinical and business leader with a strong leadership presence on a mission to transform primary care. Reporting to Trellis' Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director will oversee medical staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and provide leadership in delivering innovative and effective primary care. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in developing and implementing Quality and Safety programs. The role demands strong clinical expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for advancing primary care services. Key Responsibilities and Desired Outcomes:
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision for the practice's medical operations.
- Provides clinical direction and oversight for development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of specific advanced primary care programs.
- Provide clinical direction in setting project direction and ensure adherence to evidence-based guidelines and clinical goals; ensure that program initiatives are consistent with current medical literature and clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement strategic goals and initiatives.
- Establish clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices to ensure high-quality care.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage medical staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and professional growth.
- Monitor patient care metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accreditation standards.
- Serve as a liaison between the practice and external stakeholders, including community organizations and healthcare partners.
- Promote the integration of advanced technology and innovative practices in patient care.
- Participate in patient care as needed, balancing administrative duties with clinical engagement.
Ideal Experience:
- MD or DO degree with Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related field.
- Active and unrestricted medical license.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a healthcare setting (start-up experience is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation processes.
- Exceptional background in designing and implementing quality and safety programs.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for innovation and a commitment to patient-centered care.
