Entry level position performing Construction Inspector I job duties in support of the Capital Investment Program which includes applying basic skills in procedures, operations techniques, tools, materials and equipment appropriate to the area of public works construction, inspection, fabrication inspection and/or materials sampling and testing. Knowledge of basic construction means and methods and construction quality assurance, construction safety practices are required.


As a Construction Inspector I (civil or structural disciplines) you will perform entry level Construction Inspector job duties which includes applying basic skills in procedures, operations techniques, tools, materials, and equipment appropriate to the area of public works construction, inspection and construction materials sampling and testing. You will have the opportunity to use your knowledge of basic construction means and methods and construction quality assurance, construction safety practices required in support of Metropolitan's Capital Investment Program throughout Southern California.

Schedule: 5 Days /8 hours Monday - Friday.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate and four years of increasingly responsible, relevant (heavy construction) experience in a journey level craft (civil, structural, or mechanical), or construction materials sampling and testing per applicable codes and standards, or fabrication inspection and testing (structural or mechanical) per applicable codes and standards. General heavy construction experience may be substituted for a particular craft.

Relevant experience is defined as: heavy construction experience in a journey level craft (civil, structural, or mechanical).

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
