Compensation Grade: P25Compensation Details: Minimum: $95,599.00 - Maximum: $95,599.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) CCH - Division of EpidemiologyJob Description: Responsibilities Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Research Scientist III. The Research Scientist III will work within the Bureau of Surveillance and Data Systems (BSDS) New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) Program. This position will be responsible for leading complex research and evaluation of data in NYSIIS. The incumbent will utilize NYSIIS data and combining with other available data to identify under immunized and at risk for being under immunized children. This includes research examining racial ethnic disparities in child vaccinations. The incumbent will conduct research to identify geographic areas of under-immunization and support data-driven program activities to increase vaccination coverage levels. This position will collaborate with the Division of Vaccine Excellence (DOVE) program staff in evaluating solutions implemented to increase immunization rates and reducing disparities as well as evaluating programs implemented. The incumbent will lead research and analysis needs associated the with implementing and evaluating the consumer access portal. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics/Biostatistics and four years of research experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field and three years of research experience, OR a Doctorate degree in a related field and one year of research experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with large statewide administrative relational databases such as NYSIIS. Fluency in SQL/SAS or related statistical software such a R, Tableau or Python as well as GIS software such as ArcGIS. Experience with data systems such as NYSIIS, public health experience. Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently as well as part of a team. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
