Job Duties/Scope Of Work


Responsible for carrying out assignments in many different areas covering a wide variety of products and processes, in operating diversified equipment, in performing a sequence of complex operations. Work with a minimum of supervision and take the lead in performing work including troubleshooting, indoctrination of new employees, emergency procedures, and similar items. May direct and train others.

This position is part of the Workforce Substance Abuse/Testing Designated Position (WSAP/TDP) as defined under 10 CFR 707.7 and subject to unannounced random testing.

This position is part of the Waste Projects and Operations (WP&O) Supervisory Workgroup


Basic Qualifications


High School Diploma or equivalent.

Have or be able to obtain a DOE Level "L" Security Clearance.


Desired Qualifications


Qualified Journeyman.

This work is at a DOE Hazard Category 2 non-reactor nuclear facility. Perform surveillance for Technical Safety Requirements and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act compliance of the nearly 11,000 waste containers we have in storage, and our inactive burial grounds as well as active, permitted, mixed waste burial trenches and the US Navy reactor compartment disposal trench. Support and participate alongside a dedicated crew in Low Level, TRU, and mixed waste management activities. Support readiness activities as the Central Waste Complex prepares to resume certification of TRU waste, involving waste container handling, and support to inspection, real-time radiography, nondestructive assay and flammable gas sampling and analysis.


Compensation & Benefits


In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Starting hourly rate ranges from $31.855 to $53.091, depending on previous experience and education per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Step increases occur every 6 months until pay reaches top of the scale.

This position is also eligible for weekly certification pay following a progressive scale. Certification pay is based on length of service. Certification pay ranges from $10.00 to $62.50 per week.

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
