Overview

We are seeking a Physical Therapist, sometimes referred to as a Movement Specialist for our Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services. The Physical Therapist (PT) will help patients regain mobility and function after illness, injury, or surgery through assessments, exercises, and early mobilization. They also assist with pain management, educate patients and families, and support discharge planning to ensure safe transitions after hospitalization.

Bonus Options: up to $10,000

Employment Type: Full Time

Shifts Available: Days (No weekends)

Hours: 8hr shifts - 8:00am to 4:00pm

Location: Knapp Medical Center - Weslaco, TX

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Assessing Patients: Evaluate a patient's mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional limitations
  • Creating Treatment Plans: Develop individualized therapy plans to improve movement and function based on the patient's condition and goals
  • Post-Surgical Rehabilitation: Assist patients in regaining function after surgery (e.g., joint replacements, cardiac procedures)
  • Pain Management: Use techniques such as manual therapy, positioning, and guided movement to reduce pain and improve comfort
  • Patient & Family Education: Teach patients and caregivers how to perform exercises, use assistive devices (like walkers), and follow safety practices at home


Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • Bachelor/ Masters/ Doctorate/Certificate degree in Physical Therapy
  • Current state Physical Therapy license
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
