The Tennessee Department of Correction operates and oversees 14 adult prisons across the state, housing some 21,000 offenders. In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state. How you make a difference in this role: The Tennessee Department of Correction operates safe and secure facilities and provides effective community supervision in support of successful reentry. Job Overview: The Auditor 3 position is responsible for analyzing and updating audit work programs, reviewing policies, performing audits of all facilities, TDOC Central Office, and Tennessee Correctional Academy. Additionally, the Auditor 3 completes audits of regional evidence storage areas in the three (3) major regions of the state. This position reports directly to the Auditor Director 1Risk Mitigation. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in accounting or a Public Accountant and experience equivalent to three (3) years of full-time professional accounting or auditing work. OR Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree including thirty-six (36) quarter hours in accounting and experience equivalent to three (3) years of full-time professional accounting or auditing work. Substitution of Graduate Education for Experience: Graduate coursework credit received from an accredited college or university in accounting may substitute for the required experience on a month for month basis to a maximum of one (1) year (e.g., 36 graduate quarter hours in the above listed field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience). OR Designated as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and experience equivalent to two (2) year of full-time professional accounting or auditing work. Note: A transcript is required for a proper evaluation for this class.
