Description

MaineHealth is seeking an engaging and strategic human resources executive to serve as its next Vice President (VP) of Talent Acquisition (TA) and Workforce Development (WFD). Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the Vice President will be an integral member of the human resources executive team and will lead the strategic direction, innovation, and execution of talent acquisition and workforce development initiatives across the MaineHealth system. This pivotal role will oversee the vision, strategy and roadmap for the talent acquisition and workforce planning function in a high growth, ever evolving healthcare system.

MaineHealth is a $4.5B not-for-profit health system dedicated to improving the health of patients and communities by providing high-quality affordable care, educating tomorrow's caregivers, and researching better ways to provide care. As the largest healthcare organization in the state, MaineHealth is an 11-hospital system with 24,000 care team members and over 2,300 providers in the medical group. The system spans a broad geographic footprint from North Conway, New Hampshire to the central Maine coast. The health system is anchored by its flagship academic 740-bed hospital, MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland (MHMMCP), a medical school affiliate of Tufts University Medical School.

The VP of TA and WFD will lead a team of 90 highly motivated, intelligent, mission-driven staff that drive and support talent acquisition and workforce development in the system. This leader will build and maintain relationships with non-clinical and clinical leadership and further develop external partnerships with the community, the Maine Department of Labor and local colleges and universities. This person will also expand MaineHealth's military recruitment strategy and expand its outreach to non-traditional and vocational workers. The VP of TA and WFD will work to ensure legal compliance with employment practices, employee health and safety, and employee relations.

The VP of TA and WFD will be an exceptional leader with broad-based business acumen, sound judgment and proven executive experience in recruitment and pipeline development at all levels. The successful candidate will have considerable expertise in leading change, working in and building teams.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate evidence of successful senior leadership in human resources, including budget management and staff oversight in positions of meaningful size and scope. Healthcare industry experience is a plus, otherwise large, established service organization experience is strongly preferred.

All nominations, expressions of interest, and applications including a cover letter and resume should be directed to Kimberly Smith, Tricia Porter, and Fayth Hoecker, preferably via e-mail, to fhoecker@wittkieffer.com.
