Currently seeking a Geoscience Technician that is technically skilled and detail oriented. This role blends traditional geotechnical support with data science capabilities, including coding and complex data set management, to streamline workflows and enhance data-driven decision-making.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain geoscience databases (e.g., Petra, Kingdom) ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility across multidisciplinary teams
- Compile, clean, and curate extensive geological datasets from a variety of internal and external sources
- Develop and implement workflows for efficient data loading, editing, and extraction within subsurface interpretation platforms
- Integrate subsurface data using ArcGIS to deliver accurate geospatial support across multidisciplinary teams
- Develop and maintain dynamic Spotfire dashboards to visualize and analyze geological datasets; Support geoscientists by building custom workflows to identify trends, optimize well performance, and support data-driven decision-making across exploration and development projects
- Assist in the development of scripts and tools (e.g., Python, SQL) to automate data handling, enhance visualization, and streamline analytical tasks
- Support geoscientists in subsurface evaluations, petrophysical analysis, and resource assessments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Geoscience Technician role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with geoscience software such as Petra, Kingdom, or similar subsurface interpretation platforms
- Familiarity in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, SQL)
- Strong working knowledge of TIBCO Spotfire and associated applications
- Experience handling complex and high-volume datasets
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
