Responsibilities

Primary Function:

Provide strategic support to the Insurance group in regards to all aspects of accounting for our insurance products. The position is responsible for project costing, prepaid account analysis, assist with actuarial reports, all other insurance group financial activities. The position will be responsible for all financial information related to financial statements of the insurance group including a Captive Insurance Company.

Typical Responsibilities and Duties:

Financial Manager - Insurance Group typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    Assist with preparation of bi-annual actuarial reporting
  • Work with Financial Planning and Analysis group on preparation of Annual Business Plan Insurance Group
  • Manage prepaid insurance account and related amortizations
  • Insurance Project rate management, manage internal project costing of various products
  • Manage general ledger accounts, insurance revenue accounts and insurance cost accounts
  • Financial reporting for insurance product lines, Subcontractor Default Insurance, Contractor Controlled Insurance Program, Risk Management Rate
  • A/P invoice workflow approvals
  • Recommend, implement and maintain process improvements
  • Manage financial statements for Captive Insurance Company
  • Manage internal relationship with Insurance group and financial information
  • Develop quarterly forecasts and Annual Business Plan for insurance income for various product lines
  • Manage relationships with outside auditors


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance
  • MBA or other advanced degree in Finance preferred.
  • Accounting experience specializing in insurance products a plus
  • 10-12 years of experience working in a public accounting firm with construction clients and/or general accounting work with a CM or General Contractor organization
  • Insurance industry experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficient in CMiC and Microstrategy or working knowledge with large ERP system preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP requirements and their applicability to financial reporting
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced spreadsheet & modeling skills
  • Strong knowledge of daily corporate cash management
  • Exposure to large ERP systems, Oracle, SAP, CMIC.
  • Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
For Providence, this ranges from $135,300.00-$186,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
