Compensation Grade: H96Compensation Details: Minimum: $18.00 - Maximum: $18.00 HourlyDepartment (OPH) CEH - Bureau Of Occupational Health And Injury PreventionJob Description: Responsibilities The Hourly Project Assistant II will provide support to staff within the Bureau of Occupational Health and Injury Prevention (BOHIP) Program and the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC). The incumbent will contribute towards improving knowledge and increasing awareness of priority traffic safety and injury prevention initiatives across NYS. The incumbent will work with BOHIP's Injury Prevention Program staff to assist in the promotion of public information education and outreach in prioritized and targeted communities throughout NYS. They will assist senior level staff in planning, building, educating, and providing training activities in priority areas as determined by BOHIP and GTSC. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma. Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in a Social Science, Public Health, or Education program. Experience in a classroom or community-based organization providing education. Strong organizational and communication skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, and activities. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Conditions of Employment Hourly, grant funded position expected to last through 9/5/2025. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel 25-50% of the time will be required. A valid driver's license in good standing will be required for areas not served by public transportation. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire. Telecommuting will not be available. This position may require occasional work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays. HRI participates in the E-Verify Program.
