Position Description:	The University of Iowa Department of Sociology & Criminology invites applications for multiple Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor positions. The appointment will begin August 20, 2025. The candidate's primary responsibility will be teaching undergraduate courses that fulfill general education and departmental requirements in sociology and criminology. A Visiting positions can be half-time (2 courses per semester), time (3 courses per semester), or full-time (4 courses per semester). The initial appointment is for one year (2025-26). Salary range for the positions is $30,792 (half-time) - $61,584 (full-time) plus benefits. Education Requirement:	Master's degree in Sociology, Criminology, or a related field.
Required Qualifications:	ABD in Sociology, Criminology, or related field by August 20, 2025. Demonstrated evidence of an excellent record of teaching. Demonstrated evidence of a wide range of teaching experience.
Desirable Qualifications:	Experience working with teaching assistants in a supervisory capacity. PhD in Sociology, Criminology, or related field in hand by August 20, 2025.
