Your missions : Location: Lenexa, KS Job Summary and Purpose: The Environmental Monitoring Technician I will perform microbiological testing involving environmental monitoring, water, and other production utilities to help ensure quality production. The technician will ensure products are tested in a manner consistent with Standard Operating Procedures and in compliance with regulations according to 9CFR. Responsibilities and Key Duties: Perform routine daily, weekly, and monthly environmental monitoring testing on processes, utilities, and personnel Sample purified water system, clean steam, and other utilities for subsequent analysis Perform assigned sampling tasks carefully and on schedule according to standard operating procedure and supervisor instruction Clearly document sample collection activities on controlled records Gather and input data for trending purposes Gram Stain and/or further identify bacteria when contaminants are detected Communicate results that are out of specification or out of trend to management Core Competencies: Shape solutions out of complexity - Accepts needs for flexibility Client focus - Responds appropriately Collaborate with empathy - Responds to cooperation requests Engage and develop - Values learning for oneself and others Drive ambition and accountability - Shows concern for reaching targets Influence others - Communicates clearly Technical / Functional Competencies: Basic knowledge of Microbiology Must have great aseptic technique Basic skills with databases and word processing programs Qualifications: Education -Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Veterinary Science or related field required; 4+ years of relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Work Experience - Experience in a Quality Control Lab preferred; entry level would be considered.
