If you are an established Engineer with personal initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for a Regional Engineer to ensure the safe and reliable operation of Enbridge's assets in the Southwest region as an engineering resource.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide engineering support to field personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of Gulf Coast Transmission Region facilities.

  • Review Open-System Job Plans prepared by others, conduct risk assessments, ensure thermal protection, and approve isolation plans for alternative isolation

  • Collaborate with operations supervision, asset and equipment class managers, and authorities to enter risks into the Risk Register and conduct risk assessments

  • Provide support to US Core and Major Projects teams in developing and implementing projects affecting Gulf Coast Transmission Region Operations, as well as documenting project deficiencies and handling project-acceptance by Operations.

  • For issues that require mitigation outside of the project management departments, managing engineering activities and support execution.

  • Represent Gulf Coast Transmission Region and facilitate regional tasks associated with central programs (i.e. Depth of Cover, Exposures, Integrity, etc.)

  • Work with company SMEs to address the engineering needs of the region, as well as, continuously improving the company's SME knowledgebase and standards.

  • Support Operations in specifying and requisitioning material

  • Collaborate with technical standards group to ensure engineering standards, equipment specifications, and engineering construction specifications meet U.S. regulatory requirements and reflect U.S. practices.

  • Participate in Region safety program and station and construction site audits.

  • Perform assigned duties during emergency response activities.

  • Assist Pipeline Maintenance Services, Maintenance, and Operations on technical and compliance issues.

  • Facilitate regional reviews for MOCs and support implementation as needed

  • Complete crossing load calculations, as needed, to ensure safey and integrity of below-grade assets

  • Validate control narratives and set points

Who You Are:

You have the following education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college.

  • Minimum 2 years of general pipeline engineering or significant equivalent experience.

Preferred:

  • Ability to solve technical problems as they arise and make decisions on how a problem's solution will impact on the immediate problem and the system.

  • Proven capability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines while managing stakeholder expectations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. This includes effectively interact with peers, internal stakeholders and equipment vendors. Strong written communications abilities, including good spelling and grammar, are essential for this position.

  • Familiarity with and understanding of U.S. engineering and regulatory requirements

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with approximately 10-25% overnight travel required.

  • Occasional work-generated disruptions to off-the-job personal activities. This includes extended working hours during commissioning activities or handling after-hours calls from field staff requesting technical assistance - sometimes on weekends or during night hours. (Approximately 1 to 4 times per month.)

Physical Requirements:
Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
