DESCRIPTION

Under supervision, the incumbent will support the development efforts in the Department of Radiation Oncology. The incumbent will assist with studies investigating cancer imaging and genetics. The incumbent will assist in the review and the collection data from existing files, perform experiments, review medical records data, review medical images, organize databases, and perform statistical analyses. The incumbent will assist in coordination with other departments/entities within the University and from other institutions to maintain IRB approval for research projects; establish and maintain data sharing agreements between institutions. The incumbent will also assist in downloading images and online research. Using circumscribed procedures the incumbent will back-up, pre-process, and review data and assist in making figures and graphs. The incumbent will participate in research meetings, and prepare manuscripts for submission to journals in the field for supervisor. Other duties assigned as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Theoretical knowledge of computer science or related field as typically attained by a Bachelor's degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to compose letters, proposals, grants, reports, presentations, and other comprehensive materials using correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, editing, formatting, and proofreading skills to clearly and concisely provide accurate information.

  • Experience with the operation of a personal computer and software, such as MS Word and Excel. Knowledge to work with and learn new software for analysis.

  • Ability to prioritize, follow through on tasks, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Skill and ability to conduct literature searches using libraries and the internet.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient/study subject data.

  • Ability to think creatively and critically.

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) needed to interact professionally and effectively in work environment, as well as effectively communicate with staff members of different levels such as radiation therapists and front desk staff.

  • Interpersonal skills needed to interact well with others to facilitate communication about lab requirements, including the ability to discuss and understand research plans in a constructive, professional and pleasant manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with REDCap and/or Epic.

  • Programming skills.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $55,374 - $66,064 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $26.52 - $31.64

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
