As a Sr. Project Manager, you will manage projects within the Digital Optimization Solutions - Plant Reliability and Software Projects organization where we perform plant engineering support tasks for operating plants including Component and System Engineering Support, License Renewal, Thermal Performance and Condition Monitoring, 50.69 Implementation, and other Equipment Reliability / Strategic Engineering focused projects. You will be responsible for all project management processes on medium complexity projects, typically below $10M in value and will lead medium sized teams (average 5-20 team members). Depending on your engineering experience, you may serve as a Technical Inputs Lead for some of the assigned projects.

Example project disciplines include Engineering, Field Services, Software, Innovation/Product Development, and Process Improvement. All project management is performed following the established Westinghouse policies, procedures, and requirements.

You will report to the Manager - Projects, Digital Technology and be located at our Cranberry Township, PA location. You will be expected on site 1-2 days per week.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for all project management processes for medium complexity projects, leading medium-sized teams (average 5-20 team members). This includes authoring project plans and managing scope, schedule, and cost baselines during the project proposal, initiation, and execution phases.



  • Lead customer conversations and customer negotiations for topics associated with assigned projects.



  • Cultivate positive relationships with team, customer, and other partners (e.g. internal management) in a matrix environment to facilitate successful project completion and identify opportunities for additional business growth.



  • Assume overall responsibility for profitability of assigned contracts. Prepare or oversee project cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations/projections (including Earned Value Management) to support project performance and financial reporting requirements. Review project expenditures for compliance with project baselines and scope.



  • Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project management plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines as well as, risk and stakeholder registers per the Westinghouse Project Management Requirements (WPMR).



  • Follow department protocols for acquiring the required team members to complete the project scope.



  • Manage and integrate all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and partners.



  • Interpret and transmit contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to help develop project-specific deliverables and communicate to teams following an integrated change management process.



  • Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer, and all partners are kept informed of status.



  • Develop or oversee project records in standard databases and systems to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation internally and externally.



  • Close projects by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools. Perform final project quality assessment and report out. Communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.



  • Identify improvement or recovery opportunities to promote successful project delivery.



  • Minor travel (5-10%), including international travel, may be required for this position





Qualifications:


  • 3+ years of project management or related experience in a technical field with demonstrated history of leading small to medium complexity projects to successful completion.



  • Bachelor's degree required. Applicable disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related technical discipline.



  • Familiar with the Project Management Institute (PMI)'s Project Management Body of Knowledge



  • Broad knowledge of nuclear power plants and be familiar with utility business practices including knowledge of utility operations, maintenance and engineering practices.



  • Proficient in project scope definition, scheduling and cost management.



  • Demonstrated understanding of the transformation of data to information for reporting
