Your role

This position is responsible for technical support of automation / manufacturing projects of various sizes & types including Patient Safety & Quality, MIP, Safety, and Capacity to meet business objectives. This may also include designing and troubleshooting programs, electrical hardware, and/or IT networking systems of industrial automation and be a technical leader supporting the manufacturing process.

What you'll be doing

• Support the engineering team by providing technical support of industrial automation equipment (PLCs, HMIs, Motor Drives, Programs, Robotics, Printers, Labeling) and interfaces with various IT systems or networks to ensure reliability and optimize uptime on equipment
• Performs process reviews and prepares technical reports detailing equipment operation, best practices and recommended changes
• Prepares documentation in support of capital projects and may manage capital projects up to approximately $250K in size. Monitors and reports project costs including capital and cross-functional expenses. Estimates cost affected by design and/or policy changes
• Leads smaller project teams as needed to accomplish project objectives
• Utilize lean principles to reduce waste in the manufacturing process to ensure focus on value-added activities
• Manages multiple projects at the same time while coordinating efforts with management, engineering, and factory personnel to meet completion dates and minimize production down time
• Supports testing and validation of manufacturing system from concept thru production to ensure product quality
• Provides on-going support of continuous improvement efforts to support yearly value improvement opportunities
• Provides support to manufacturing related to safe and efficient daily operations
• Interfaces with different functional groups and producing appropriate documentation in support of projects
• Works closely with product development leaders, suppliers and manufacturing to ensure meeting of customer needs and requirements

What you'll bring

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Information Technology
• Creative, highly motivated, diligent professional with a positive attitude and passion for engineering and technology
• Requires little direction, gives guidance to others, works on technical projects, and has sophisticated knowledge within area of functional responsibility
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills including Microsoft Office
• Lead and assist networking, programming, electrical or controls issues for hardware & equipment to determine root cause, then determine solution and procure vital components to prevent reoccurrence
• Basic understanding with PLC programming and control systems design (Examples: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Control Technology Inc (CTI), Automation Direct, Profibus, and Device Net,) developing standard modules and some custom code.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements in the infrastructure of existing automated systems

Physical / Safety Requirements

• Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends
• Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required
• Position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Must be able to perform gowning requirements.
• Must be able to wear applicable Personal Protective Equipment.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $88,000 - $132,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
