Responsible for performing general maintenance and servicing functions throughout the hospital and grounds. Maintains a Utilities Management Program for these systems as required by the Joint Commission and other regulatory or insurance standards.
Recommends policies and procedures designed to enhance and ensure the safe usage of all equipment and systems contained in the program and provides support for the evaluation, selection, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems.
Provide effective direction to those persons assigned in support of departmental and hospital policies, procedures, goals, and projects.
-Maintain open, timely, and effective communication with management, peers, and all others necessary to promote the concept of customer satisfaction.
-Provide training, orientation, and coaching to employees.
-Provide input on performance evaluation.
-Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all repairs, maintenance, and related procedures to ensure compliance with the Joint Commission and Hospital policy or other regulatory agencies.
-Help plan and establish budgets for assigned projects; support the Director, Facilities in meeting budgetary goals.
-Assist with the repair and installation of selected communications equipment.
-Recommend opportunities to implement electrical energy conservation measures in the institution.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Related Field of Study required

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Experience in a mechanical field required 2-3 years required and Healthcare experience 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Joint Commission requirements and procedures.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing various maintenance issues.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work with computerized management systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards related to facilities maintenance.
