Clinical Vendor Management Leader - Remote

About the Role: We are looking for a Clinical Vendor Management Leader to join our team. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of the Clinical outsourcing strategy that aligns with business and functional needs. Responsibilities include leading a small team of associates, developing and managing supplier negotiation and relationships, setting and monitoring financial targets for supplier spend, and providing oversight of the clinical supplier outsourcing lifecycle. This role will also lead the site budget development and negotiation process, providing associates with guidance and leadership during all phases of site budget development and negotiation. This role will ensure business, regional and functional needs are met while executing Clinical Affairs' strategy.

This is a remote position, and you can work from home in most locations within the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Critically think through and address strategic approaches that drive efficient, compliant, and effective business solutions for supplier outsourcing. In consultation with Clinical leadership, develop overall clinical vendor plan, implement and track progress to the clinical vendor plan
  • Identify new vendors and/or recommends existing service providers to meet business and project needs and Provides oversight of the clinical research vendor lifecycle, including service provider identification, evaluation & selection, performance monitoring to key performance indicators, change orders, and monitoring contract status
  • Establish KPIs at the program level and maintains awareness to any study level KPIs leveraging data to analyze supplier performance and presents supplier data to diverse audiences to help inform business decisions
  • Collaborate with Clinical and inter-functional departments to execute agreements and meet business needs. Reviewing Statements of Work and Change Orders for consistency with other vendor-provided services while also partnering with Clinical Study Teams and Procurement in vendor negotiations
  • Establish and analyzes metrics to demonstrate the cost of supplier services and identify trends related to investments to inform business planning (forecasting)
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to identify efficiencies and optimize investments with clinical vendors

  • Provide primary leadership to associates supporting supplier outsourcing, including hiring, clarifying expectations, providing support and feedback, driving performance and development (P&D) discussions, resolving conflicts and/or performance issues, driving accountability, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Maintain knowledge of supplier management best practices, processes, and industry trends. Leverage knowledge to drive improvements in the clinical outsourcing lifecycle and to build and maintain supplier relations
  • Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and acts immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in life sciences, business administration, or supply chain management
  • Minimum 5 years experience with service provider outsourcing within the biomedical industry or from a contract research organization or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience managing suppliers, maintaining data, and providing oversight
  • Knowledge of clinical research process and regulatory environment
  • Strong written, communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to build trust and influence
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze cost and negotiate complex budgets
  • Proven ability to work proactively and collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently when necessary
  • Ability to travel to up to 20%



Desired Qualifications:



  • Proficient in the end-to-end clinical sourcing and contracting process
  • Experience working/collaborating with global partners
  • Formal leadership experience including performance and development responsibilities



Remote Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore's remote working policies, from the country in which they are employed. For fully remote roles, the following locations are not eligible for new fully remote work arrangements: Alaska and Hawaii (for all roles), and Rhode Island (for wage/hourly roles only).
