Intern (Cyber Security)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The intern works side-by-side with the home department staff to gain key insights and learning related to the inner workings of the team. They will complete assigned projects and activities and assist staff as requested by the leader to increase the intern's professional experiences and knowledge while supporting Bryan Health core values.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

3. *Completes assigned projects and tasks to meet required deadlines.

4. *Tracks progress toward project completion.

5. *Participates in meetings and conferences calls as assigned by the leader.

7. *Completes assigned tasks and duties as required for completions of internship.

8. Reports delays or conflicts as they arise.

9. Represents Bryan Health in a professional Manner

10. Utilizes classroom experiences to enhance projects and assigned work.

11. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

In addition to the principal job functions contained on the primary job description, the following duties are also required in the Addendum Area/Specialty noted above.

1. Assists in monitoring and analyzing security events for suspicious activities.

2. Assists with conducting various security audits and remediation dependent on analysis results.

3. Helps maintain and updates security documentation.

4. Learns about and contributes to security incident response procedures.

5. Conducts research on emerging security threats and vulnerabilities.

6. Assists with security testing activities, such as vulnerability scanning and system tuning.

7. Stays up-to-date on the latest cyber security trends through research and continuous learning.

8. Participates in security awareness training initiatives (may involve creating content or assisting with presentations).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalency required. Must have a 2nd year standing in an Associate's degree program or at least a Junior standing in a Bachelor's degree program. Previous experience in the assigned area preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Strong understanding of computer networking concepts.

2. Knowledge of basic cybersecurity principles and best practices.

3. Excellent skill in analytical thinking and problem-solving.

4. Skill in attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

(Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.)
