Dep of AG is looking for a help desk technician on a 3-6 month contract to hire engagement who will be exposed to help desk, desktop, and light networking functions. The candidate must have traditional help desk/desktop experience - including break/fix, troubleshooting hardware including printers, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, drivers, monitors etc - installing applications and minor routers and switches. This is a Windows & MS environment. The AG is highly virtual because IT supports the entire PA, but IT support sits in Harrisburg. There are 958 desktops, 331 virtual desktops, and 32 virtual offices (VMWare & Citrix). Total number of end-users are between 11K & 12K users. AG is highly automated. AG's aims for first-call resolution; the team takes between 26-40 tickets per day; they use Kace ticketing systems, and Secure Print, so experience with printers are a plus. AG puts a huge focus on accurate documentation. A great diagnostic ability is a plus. Its ticketing system is Kace, and they have 150 minor applications they support. AG plans to transform its help desk to a service desk over the next year. Additionally, candidates are working in a highly confidential environment such as managing wire taps for undercover agents in the field. Other responsibilities of the help desk support roles, including responding to user tickets, imaging computers, and maintaining the organization's extensive IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have skills in using Microsoft Office products, Windows 10 and 11, and the ability to install products.
