Position Summary

As a Portfolio Analyst on the Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) team at TCW, you will play a key role in supporting the investment process and client communications across a range of structured credit and securitized asset classes. Working closely with portfolio managers and senior analysts, you'll contribute to investment analysis, performance tracking, risk management, and client reporting.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to build deep knowledge of complex credit markets. This role offers a strong foundation in ABF and may serve as a potential pathway to future opportunities within the investment team or as a product specialist.



Essential Duties

    Support lead PMs in developing internal and external ABF-related content, including marketing decks, white papers, DDQs, and investment memos.
  • Coordinate with internal sales, operational, legal, and marketing teams all ABF-related activities.
  • Support lead PMs in portfolio monitoring, reporting, and trading.
  • Engage with sell-side counterparts and internal securitized product teams to monitor deal flow.
  • Develop understanding of individual positions, contribute to team discussion.
  • Broad exposure to public and private structured product investing across multiple vehicle types.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 18 months direct structured finance banking or research experience
  • Fluent in PowerPoint and Excel modeling
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Two-year commitment to the role


Desired Qualifications

  • Coding background and Intex knowledge a plus

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For NY based position, the base salary range is $120k - $130k . This is an anticipated range only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus.
