Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Obtain job assignments from lead, supervisor or manager.
  • Work safely in accordance to plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety.
  • Adheres to quality processes including in-process visual inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Correctly interpret work instructions and verify documentation
  • Unload trucks - (Visual Inspection, Verification of received goods)
  • Prepare materials for inspections
  • Pull stock to prepare shipments
  • Palletize goods (banding, wrapping etc.)
  • Basic system transactions in QMS
  • Basic packaging tasks (weigh count, labeling, visual inspection etc.)
  • Part marking verification
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as requested by lead, supervisor or manager.

Required Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of shipping processes & equipment, to include prior forklift experience.
  • The ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents - basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to read and interpret work instructions

Experience & Education

  • 0 to 1 year of manufacturing experience; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree required
  • GED or High School diploma
  • Minimum 6 months prior experience operating powered industrial equipment

Working Conditions:

  • Constant exposure to indoor / outdoor manufacturing environment
  • Constant exposure to moderate noise
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
  • Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials.
  • Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane.
  • Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
  • Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
  • Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
