ITC Federal is seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to provide expert-level leadership in the design, implementation, and optimization of complex enterprise IT systems and networks in support of critical government operations. This role is responsible for architecting robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions while collaborating with stakeholders to align technology capabilities with mission objectives.

The SME will serve as the senior technical authority, driving the strategic direction and technical execution of enterprise-level IT projects, with a focus on network architecture, systems integration, security compliance, and infrastructure modernization.

Design, architect, and implement complex enterprise IT systems and network infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.

• Serve as the principal technical expert on system engineering, network architecture, and enterprise IT modernization initiatives.

• Lead system assessments and develop modernization strategies to optimize legacy systems and integrate emerging technologies that meet mission-critical requirements.

• Architect and document secure network topologies, including LAN/WAN configurations, SD-WAN, cloud integrations, firewalls, and other security appliances.

• Collaborate with IT leadership, security teams, engineers, and vendors to deliver solutions aligned with federal standards, industry best practices, and customer objectives.

• Conduct technical assessments, system performance evaluations, and vulnerability analyses to enhance system reliability and security posture.

• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of highly complex network, system, and application integration issues.

• Support preparation of system architecture documentation, white papers, briefings, and technical reports for executive stakeholders and clients.

• Ensure infrastructure solutions meet compliance requirements, including NIST, FISMA, and other applicable federal security guidelines.

• Mentor and provide subject matter expertise to junior engineers and technical staff.

• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and best practices to continuously improve IT service delivery.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

• 12+ years of progressive experience in IT systems engineering, network architecture, or enterprise IT infrastructure design.

• Proven expertise in designing and deploying large-scale enterprise networks and IT systems in federal or highly regulated environments.
