CLASS SUMMARY:
Perform tasks involving physical labor for general construction projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare sites, assist in minor maintenance and repairs ,clean up construction debris and waste materials. May assist other craft workers. TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
1. Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in general construction projects; perform manual work in preparing construction site.
2. Shovel/clean streets of debris.
3. Assist Job Superintendent with various tasks.
4. Provide access to contractors as required.
5. Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
6. Material handling and storage.
7. Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
8. Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Safety Director or HR Director. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
1. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
2. Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions. LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):
* Wisconsin Driver's License with fully insurable driving record KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
* Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in general construction work.
* Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions. SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
* Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
* Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
* Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
* Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
* Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
* Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, lifting, moving and carrying light objects, operating office equipment, and driving an automobile. Work at managed properties may include exposure to hot, cold, damp and wet weather conditions. As required, employee, must be available 24 hours for emergency situations and /or agency related duties. At times, work requires the use of safety clothing and equipment. NOTE:
