Barnes Molding Solutions has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for an experienced Production Planner for the Gammaflux and Synventive products, in Livonia MI. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the schedule for production of finished goods or the time phased deliver schedule of key raw materials to establish the sequence and/or lead time of each operation to meet customer demand. You will work with Operations to determine the optimal level of production and/or purchase to maximize manufacturing efficiencies, minimize raw and finished goods inventories, and meet or exceed customer service expectations. Travel to Peabody MA will be required for training, all expenses will be covered. Core Responsibilities:



  • Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules. Coordinates with material requirements to ensure flow of approved materials to meet production requirements and lead times.
  • Assures internal and external customer requirements are met in accordance with the schedule.
  • Understands and monitors customer requirements for due dates for production. Primarily responsible for maintaining a close relationship with external customers; understanding ramp-ups, shortages, etc.
  • Knowledge of process and machine related to products manufactured and repaired within business units. Works closely and interfaces with Business Unit Manager, Production Supervisors, and Materials Team.
  • Works closely with cross-functional leads, identify, plan, and resolve inconsistencies and gaps between operations and supply.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and traffic.
  • Schedules and expedites the movement of part by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
  • Assists in expediting workloads through cells and shared services as required to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Monitors lead times and lead time offsets (keep current standards) in the system to reflect lean manufacturing and flow principles.
  • Communicates delivery information to customers.
  • Results oriented with effective problem solving and project management skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 3-5 years of directly related experience in planning/scheduling role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload as conflicts arise, and manage the impacts of their priority decisions, meeting customer needs while protecting the interests of the company.
  • Ability to perform previously stated responsibilities while assisting the PIC Manager in the development and execution of the schedule.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred strong background in Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team skills required. Able to effectively interface at all levels of the organization.



Education Requirements:



  • BS Degree in Management, Business, Logistics, related field highly desired.
