Fuel Supply Analyst

Location: Houston, TX - Onsite

Job Objective: The Fuel Supply Analyst will play a pivotal role in optimizing our fuel procurement, distribution, and pricing strategies. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong analytical background to monitor market trends, manage fuel inventories, and support financial planning related to fuel operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management.



  • Monitor and analyze fuel market conditions, including pricing trends, supply and demand fluctuations, and geopolitical factors affecting fuel availability and costs
  • Proactively manage fuel inventories, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing costs
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to schedule timely deliveries
  • Develop and implement competitive pricing models based on market analysis, ensuring profitability while maintaining market share
  • Prepare detailed financial reports related to fuel operations, including cost analyses, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Identify and troubleshoot areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
  • Ensure all fuel operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess their impact on company operations
  • Partner with fuel suppliers to negotiate contracts and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise
  • Work closely with logistics, sales, and finance departments to align fuel strategies with overall business objectives


Qualifications:



  • Must be willing to work onsite. Candidates must reside within 60 miles of the office
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience analyzing fuel markets and supply chain dynamics, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, supply chain operations, or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, including advanced Excel skills
  • Preferred experience with Power BI, Tableau, SAP
  • Strong understanding of fuel markets, pricing dynamics, and supply chain operations
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel as required up to 10%



Performance Measurements:



  • Analyzing historical data to identify patterns and potential issues in fuel cost and opportunities to improve fuel cost
  • On time project creation, process improvement planning and actions through precise review and analysis of department activities
  • Comparing actual fuel costs to budgeted or projected costs to identify areas where costs are exceeding expectations or in line with market
