Position Overview

Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as the Department of Defense's constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA capitalizes on a unique business model that values speed and lowers costs by harnessing commercial development to achieve a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience. We are seeking a SETA Contractor Legal Support to support SDA's mission. The contractor will provide legal research, drafting, and analytical support to the Office of General Counsel (OGC) in matters related to acquisition, contracting, fiscal law, and procurement policy. The contractor supports OGC attorneys in performing their official duties but does not provide legal advice, make legal determinations, or otherwise perform inherently governmental functions. Responsibilities include:



Responsibilities

    Conducts legal research regarding federal acquisition statutes, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), fiscal law principles, and agency-specific policies.
  • Drafts research memoranda, annotated outlines, and summaries to assist OGC attorneys in providing advice on acquisition strategy, contract formation and administration, bid protests, and claims.
  • Prepares draft analyses of contract terms and conditions, solicitation language, and other acquisition-related documents to identify potential legal issues.
  • Assists in drafting preliminary versions of standard clauses, statements of work (SOWs), and contract modifications, subject to government attorney review.
  • Tracks legislative and regulatory changes impacting acquisition and fiscal law and prepares draft summaries highlighting relevant impacts.


Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school with demonstrated experience or coursework in government contracts, acquisition law, or fiscal law.
  • 8 years direct experience
  • Ability to perform complex legal research and analysis, producing clear, concise, logically structured written products.
  • Capability to work independently and meet deadlines under the supervision of government attorneys.
