Branchburg is the molecular diagnostics manufacturing engine within Global Operations and a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) center of excellence. As the largest DIA manufacturing site in North America, our teams deliver a broad portfolio of PCR-based in-vitro diagnostic tests. Our operations include reagent and active diagnostic ingredient (ADI) production, filling and packaging. Our 63-acre site with ~1400 people is currently under expansion, fueled by our culture of agility, innovation and transformation. Each day we focus on delivering the value of Roche Diagnostics to patients around the world.

The opportunity:

  • Supports Operations in the monitoring of critical liquid filling processes/equipment to improve upstream detection of manufacturing defects, optimize efficiencies, increase capacity, incorporate process changes, etc. Develops streamlined approach for performing daily inspections and organizing data into visual dashboards for communicating real-time and historical data on critical manufacturing processes.

  • Supports project activities for key IRT(Inventory Replenishment Team) projects, including new equipment purchases, equipment upgrades, package development and design changes, product launches and supplier consumable/component changes.

  • Supports Sr./Principal Engineer on equipment projects by coordinating delivery of components to equipment suppliers for acceptance testing and participating in acceptance testing activities at suppliers' site. Communicates key project task updates to both Roche and supplier personnel in a timely manner.

  • Ability to track and follow up on multiple tasks within projects, as well as pause and reconvene projects based on urgency and prioritization.

  • Drafts specifications of diagnostic filling and packaging equipment and packaging components in accordance with manufacturing capabilities and marketing objectives. Applies engineering principles and financial expertise to improve diagnostic manufacturing performance, promote cost reductions and achieve optimum level of quality and efficiency.

  • Manufacturing Documentation - Creation of a variety of documentation used to support product launches and manufacturing, including but not limited to filling records, packaging records, packaging development purchasing specifications and SOP's. Initiate and oversee change requests and design change requests as needed.

Who you are:

  • You hold Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and a minimum of at least 2 years work-related experience.

  • You have 0 - 2 years experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotech or diagnostic manufacturing industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency, engineering creativity, collaboration with others, and independent thought.

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills including the use of designed experiments.

  • Strong teamwork skills.

Pay transparency

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Branchburg is 63,100.00 - 117,100.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
