New Avenues for Youth seeks a compassionate and resilient Peer Support Specialist to join our Treatment & Harm Reduction Oriented Resource Network (THORN) team. Your Journey, Their Inspiration: As the ROSE and THORN Program Supervisor you will support the Recovery Oriented Services & Engagement (ROSE) and Treatment & Harm Reduction Oriented Recovery Network (THORN). You will do this by working collaboratively to oversee the development of a team of peer support and drug and alcohol, recovery specialists and lead community trainings, and support the staff of Specialists in the following ways; providing connection and referral to mental health or recovery resources; develop and deliver engaging programming for youth participants; providing professional development, coaching, and supervision supports for staff; and coordinating the provision of recovery and harm reduction services as part of wraparound services across multiple New Avenues programs. This includes oversight of supervision and coaching of the staff with an emphasis on teambuilding, working with agency partners, and leading program development. This position will play a key role in the development of recovery services and will work closely with the Director of Substance Use Services and other departments. What You'll Do: Support Your Team: Serve as an available point person, coach, and mentor for those that you supervise. Who You Are: * A Clear Leader: Provide clear leadership by inspiring the team, setting clear objectives, and motivating staff to achieve their goals * A Peer-Centered Supervisor: You understand the power and complexity of peer work, providing supervision that honors lived experience, supports boundary-setting, and fosters resilience in those holding healing-centered roles. * A Strong Communicator: Communicates clearly and concisely with a focus of ensuring that the team understand expectations and the paths toward successful outcomes * An Active Listener: You consistently work on fostering a culture of open communication and trust * An Effective Delegator: With your oversight, you empower team members to take ownership and develop their skills Why Join Us: Make a Profound Impact: Witness firsthand the transformative power of your support and guidance. * Active PSS or CRM with at least two years of working experience * Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) II or III credential, or ability to become certified as a CADC II or III within six months * Three or more years of supervisory and program management experience preferred * Experience OR knowledge of Peer Support Programs and Services * Experience working with diverse populations, specifically, transgender individuals, Indigenous, Black, and People of color, and LGBTQ+ youth, and/or youth accessing behavioral health resources * Demonstrated success in leading outcome-based programs and experience/understanding of at-risk youth needs and services. * Understanding of diversity, anti-racist, and equity frameworks that support the various needs of a thriving community and program * Understanding of the impacts of substance abuse, mental health, trauma, and abuse, as well as an understanding of adolescent development, community education and facilitation * Must have access to an automobile, a valid driver's license, and active auto insurance on that vehicle Apply Today: If you're ready to use your lived experience to ignite hope and inspire change, we encourage you to apply today by simply clicking on the 'Apply for Job' button at the bottom of this screen and attach your resume and cover letter.
