Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Licensed Operator to support the Ewing, NJ, site Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Pace is a leading provider of comprehensive environmental and life sciences testing, delivering high-quality analytical solutions that support regulatory compliance, product development, and environmental stewardship.

Our Analytical Services division operates a nationwide network of accredited laboratories, offering a full range of environmental sample collection and analytical testing.

Expanding our capabilities, we now provide water system management services to ensure safe and compliant water supply operations in the State of New Jersey. To support this growth, we are seeking a Very Small Water System (VSWS) or Licensed Operator to join our New Jersey Team.

Position Overview

The VSWS Licensed Operator will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of very small public community water systems and/or nontransient noncommunity water systems that do not require or utilize treatment. Responsibilities include conducting routine system inspections, performing water quality testing, preparing compliance reports, and responding to emergencies as needed, in accordance with New Jersey regulations.

Key Responsibilities



  • Operate and maintain assigned very small water systems to ensure compliance with N.J.A.C. 7:10 regulations.
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of water treatment and distribution systems.
  • Collect water samples to ensure compliance with NJDEP water quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of system operations, sampling results, and compliance reporting.
  • Respond to system alarms, customer concerns, and emergency situations.
  • Work with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and address any violations or corrective actions.
  • Assist with system upgrades, repairs, and maintenance activities.


Qualifications & Requirements



  • Valid NJDEP Very Small Water System (VSWS) Operator License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in water treatment or environmental sciences preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in water system operations (preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge of NJDEP water system regulations and water treatment principles.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple small systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed outside, and in plant/lab settings. Work is subject to travel, weather conditions, exposure to blood or bodily fluids, chemicals, fumes, gasses, noxious odors and related items in a lab and environmental setting.
