Job Description 3rd shift position: Monday - Friday 10pm - 6:30am Training on 1st shift PURPOSE: Under general supervision inspect wax patterns and assemblies for conformance to specifications following established methods and procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Work from inspection procedures, specifications, photographs and/or instructions to visually inspect and check wax patterns for surface finish and smoothness, blending of features, flash, non-fills, air bubbles, core pulls, holes and cracks. Perform dimensional checks using various precision measuring instruments including micrometers, verniers, scale. Detect, track and report defective parts or unusual conditions. Advise leadpeople, supervision, and wax operator of any apparent quality problems in an effort to correct them at that operation. Effectively communicate to Engineering when issues arise concerning defective parts. Load inspection data into the First Time Yield spread sheet. SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to use common inspection tools such as verniers, micrometers and dial gages The ability to translate information into an inspection report in a clear and legible manner REPORTING RELATIONS: The Wax Inspector reports to the Wax Engineer The Wax Inspector does take technical direction and works closely with Product Engineers.
