Title: Inventory and Materials Specialist II

Location: Alcoa, TN 37701

Duration: 12 Months

Shift Timings: 8am to 5 PM

Salary: $25/hr. on W2 without benefits

Description:

  • Inventory/Metal Blending Technician: The primary focus of this role is to be the Plant liaison between Operations, Metal Purchasing, and Suppliers to ensure used beverage cans (UBCs) and other metal units meet key operational and quality variables to maximize metal margin and to ensure recyclability and sustainability targets are met. This entails management of UBC materials, from procurement, delivery, measurement, and production processes, to meet and/or exceed the needs of the plant to ensure efficient and safe operation. This position reports directly to the Metals Coordinator.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • This role is primarily day shift, Monday-Friday. However, there is potential for the incumbent to work off-shifts and overtime as needed to support the functions of this role Count inventory and scrap, paint prime with counts - update daily inventory and distribute Enter charge sheet data into Ingot Pad Melter Charge database, review footage as necessary Review truck/railroad incoming material schedule and coordinate with South Ingot/Can Rec--Emails storage locations Assist with rejecting Loads---Copy paperwork, pictures, and email to Metals Team Coordinate and identify segregation of all various alloys Understand how metal flows through the process and recognize inaccuracies in the system Develop Charge Blending plans and work with operations to ensure scrap utilization is maximized.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment High School graduate or equivalent Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high performance, cross functional team environment Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of direct management/supervisory experience
  • Experience with furnaces or molten metal processes Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis and Reliability Excellence methodologies
