Role: Food Services Assistant

Reports to: Kitchen Manager

Program: 1005- Village

Department: Operations

Location: The Village - 527 Crocker Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013

Setting: 100% Onsite

Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday, 6am - 2:30pm

Status: Full-time/Non-Exempt/Non-Management

SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of food and be able to predetermined Facility routes, reviewing orders before delivery, loading and unloading food, and providing exceptional customer service to our client base and staff members. Available to work between the hours of 6am - 2:30pm must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Pickup and delivers meals to agency projects at multiple locations
  • Serve meals and clean up at location as needed
  • Report any issues with meal delivery or service at the location
  • Check paper goods inventory at each location and replenish as needed
  • Keep vehicle clean and in good operating condition
  • Inspect vehicle daily and report any maintenance issue immediately to supervisor (agency vehicles only)
  • Maintain an accurate daily log of meal deliveries and contributions picked up if applicable
  • Assists in scheduling meal deliveries with the supervisor to minimize time and distance between deliveries.
  • Keep daily mileage records
  • Pick-up and return vehicles to garage or parking place daily (agency vehicles only)
  • Dress professionally and follow the company's dress code
  • Report any case of accident, injury, or damage of vehicle or self to the supervisor



Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current, valid California Driver's license with an acceptable driving record and reliable vehicle
  • 2 years or more of driving experience in Los Angeles or high traffic areas.
  • May need to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less on an intermittent basis required.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of the people we serve



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus



Work Environment:



  • Combination of either field and/or office environment depending on the position
  • On occasion walk or drive to different agency sites
  • May/Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments depending on the position
  • May/Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor depending on the position
  • May need to bend, stoop, twist and sit throughout the day
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
