The below is a position with ASPEQ Heating Group. ASPEQ Heating Group is a marketplace leader in innovative electric heating solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial markets. With a portfolio that includes baseboard, wall, unit and infrared heaters as well as ceiling fans and air circulators, we create simplified heating solutions for our complex work.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Safety Lead, will champion workplace safety while also assisting with the administrative responsibilities associated with it as well as other areas. This individual will work closely with plant leadership, employees, and the safety team to promote a culture of safety, ensure compliance with safety policies, and help reduce workplace incidents as well as lighten the administrative burden current by carried by the front-line leaders.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Safety Leadership & Compliance:
    • Serve as the go-to safety resource for employees, providing guidance on safety procedures and policies.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
    • Conduct regular safety walks and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
    • Report and document safety concerns, near misses, and incidents to leadership.
  2. Training & Communication:
    • Assist in delivering safety training sessions and toolbox talks.
    • Reinforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Communicate safety updates, best practices, and policy changes to employees.
  3. Incident Prevention & Response:
    • Support investigations of workplace accidents and incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
    • Collaborate with leadership and employees to proactively address potential safety risks.
    • Participate in emergency drills and ensure employees understand emergency response procedures.
  4. Continuous Improvement:
    • Suggest and implement safety improvements in daily operations.
    • Promote a culture of safety by recognizing and encouraging safe work practices.
    • Assist with tracking and analyzing safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Required Experience

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and safety procedures.
  • Competency with computers and associated software/programs.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to recognize potential hazards.
  • Willingness to participate in additional safety training as needed.
  • Competency with computers and associated software/programs.
  • Ability to lead by example and promote a positive safety culture.
