Intercollegiate Athletics Job Description
Missouri S&T, a NCAA II institution in the Great Lakes Valley Conference is accepting applications for an assistant men's basketball coach. General responsibilities include assisting the head men's basketball coach in the coordination and supervision of the program, planning practices, designing and implementing basketball strategies and techniques, scouting opponents, and recruiting. The individual must communicate effectively with others, including but not limited too, prospective student-athletes, parents, boosters, other coaches, support staff, campus departments, and administration. Specific responsibilities include recruiting, coaching, and supervising student-athletes. This individual will also manage travel, hotels, meals, equipment purchases, and camps. The successful candidate must embrace the academic rigor and mission of the University by recruiting high achieving student-athletes. They must be able to demonstrate excellence within their own career. This person will be added to a talented staff comprised of positive, enthusiastic coaches who have the skill set to sustain S&T athletics as a nationally ranked Division II program. This position must adhere to NCAA and GLVC rules and institutional polices. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $38,100-$42,000 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
